Shira Forge Carbon Steel Frypan
This pan is fought over in Chef Frank’s kitchen. It’s one of the most versatile (and not to mention, beautiful) pans, perfect for anything from veggies to beautifully roasted proteins. Made from a small blacksmith in the Smoky Mountains, Shira Forge created these incredible heirloom quality, forged carbon steel cookware. Each pan is forged from 11 gauge carbon steel. After the pans are finished, they are brought to 500 degrees for an hour to “blue” them. This creates a surface oxidation that prevents rust. While they are hot, they are rubbed with beeswax and flax oil to preseason them. It doesn’t get better than this! Over time, the pan will develop a beautiful dark patina. Enjoy!
Wash by hand with warm water. Do not use soap or put in the dishwasher!
